Jordan
Jordan's horticulture start began as a child, with Granny making her pick blueberries. Then in high school, she participated in "Envirothon," learning about soil, forestry, limnology, wildlife, et cetera. #NerdAlert
Later on, Granny showed Jordan floral design elements, and that transitioned to a desire to know about the actual plants she used. There's something satisfying about watching the progress of plants growing.
In the spring of 2018, she decided to do try vegetable gardening on her own. "I strapped a toddler to my back, picked up a shovel and dug three rows, ten feet long," said Jordan. "That year I had fingerling potatoes, green beans, some dill, and one piddly kohlrabi. I was hooked."
Jordan has since expanded her knowledge and tools. We are here to help make your garden experience simpler.
Taylor
Taylor owns Derryberry Lawn & Landscape, LLC. His grandpa taught him the value of hard work, and oftentimes that meant working in the garden.
When needed, he can scalp grass before tilling, or be Mr. Fix It for his girlfriend Jordan. If you need something done right, he is the detail-oriented type!
Taylor enjoys mowing (yes, really), going fishing, and relaxing on his front porch in the evenings.
Granny {1943 - 2023}
Granny's desire to teach people what she knew was pivotal in the development of my own interests in life.
She held dear to the value of family and of helping one other out. If you had time (or even if you didn’t), Patsy Merle was going to tell you about flower arrangements, gardening, preserving, cake decorating, or her latest meals. And looking back, we are so thankful for that heritage.
Granny lived life “one day at a time,” which was one of her favorite things to say. We will miss her long hugs, how she said “I love you,” and her soft voice, but we know she knew Jesus personally and expect to see her again soon.
